Dear,
Partners, Stakeholders
and Friends,
This is a very special year for the Women
Advancement Trust (WAT). WAT staff has been struggling for the past two years
to get funds through basket funding and it is only this year that our dream has
come true. This happened in February 2003 when our funding partners, Rooftops
Canada and the Norwegian Federation of Co-operatives Housing Association (NBBL)
agreed to fund us through the basket funding system. Before making their
decision the two partners visited us and we held consultation meetings together
to understand each other. Through this process our funding partners got a
chance to understand our organization better and finally we entered into
agreement contracts, which were signed, between NBBL and WAT and between
Rooftops and WAT. We thank them very sincerely for their support.
I would also like to thank other funding
agencies that supported us during the year in review though their support was
for only one year. These include the government of Denmark, American Embassy
and Finnish Embassy. Inter-Team and CUSO
assisted us by paying for two members of staff, a co operant supported by CUSO
and one Tanzanian who is supported by Inter-Team. We thank them for their support.
